Pti Lakaz is an honest testament of what can be achieved by cask ageing rum on a tropical island. Traditional pot distilled Seychelles cane rum from four different barrels – including two port casks – is blended with pot and column distilled molasses rum that’s been aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon, as well as an 8 year old Bajan Foursquare molasses rum. No colour or sugar added, and non-chill filtered.
Nose: Rich fruity spice.
Palate: Cherry sweetness leading into dried apricots with hints of star anise and dried cocoa beans.
Finish: Long and complex, full of dry spice.
How to enjoy: Got to be enjoyed neat to appreciate the complexity of flavours, if absolutely needed, a splash of ginger ale will lengthen the drink.
